Stop-motion & 3D environment for the COSWICK “Mini Herringbone” parquet
Frame-by-frame animation of COSWICK mini planks combined with a minimalist 3D environment. We merged stop-motion, graphical interiors and music to clearly highlight the herringbone layout and the movement of the planks in space. This approach goes beyond simple product demonstration, turning parquet into a visual story where every detail matters. The videos became an effective tool for presentations and brand promotion, making COSWICK stand out from competitors.
Concept & style frames
The project began with developing the concept and defining the visual style. The goal was not only to present the product but also to make the video aesthetically engaging.
We created style frames — static images that set the color palette, composition, and mood for the animation. They became the foundation for the visual language of the project and guided the entire production.
R&D: stop-motion & 3D environment
In the research phase, we tested different shooting techniques and built custom tools for animating parquet slats frame by frame. Scene timings were calculated to synchronize stop-motion with 3D work.
Lighting was a key focus: studio sources were matched with HDRI in 3D to ensure highlights and shadows lined up naturally across both real and digital footage. This seamless integration kept the look coherent and believable.
Shooting with stop-motion
Each plank was carefully selected for color and texture to ensure consistency. Stop-motion requires precision — even a small displacement can break the rhythm of the animation.
Motion-control rigs and floor markers helped keep the movement smooth and the grid stable throughout the process. This technique gave the parquet a lively, almost breathing quality on screen.
Compositing in a 3D environment
The footage was then integrated into a 3D scene. Camera tracking, masking, and light wrapping were used to blend the planks naturally with the virtual interior.
The digital space was designed as a minimalist sketch — simple lines outlining walls and floor, directing focus toward the parquet itself. This clean approach emphasized the product and gave the video a contemporary design aesthetic.
Editing & sound design
The final stage was editing and music selection. We curated soundtracks for each video to reinforce the motion and the mood of the animation.
Special care was taken with synchronization: at certain points the music aligns with edit cuts and plank movements, amplifying the sense of rhythm and flow.
Music became the final emotional accent — transforming a technical flooring process into a cohesive and expressive visual story.
Result and brand value
The COSWICK videos became a remarkable case in the parquet industry. The unconventional approach — combining stop-motion animation with 3D environment — positioned the brand ahead of competitors, where such formats are almost never used. This type of visual content makes the product demonstration not only clear but also emotional, turning construction details into a design-driven story.
For the brand, it means strengthening its image as an innovative company, building audience trust, and achieving effective digital promotion. The videos perform equally well in presentations, on the website, and across social media, increasing brand awareness and reinforcing COSWICK’s leadership in the market.
